Description
Many winters form trees that, in season, men carefully prune. Snow and ice also take their toll, not caring how they shape brittle, sapless branches.
In the distance, the oldest of such formations lorded over the orchard. I walked closer and came right up on it- the main trunk, the way it forked. It was years beyond its fruit, yet so very graceful- an old dance master.
